New Friday the 13th Movie and Video Game in the Works

New Friday the 13th Movie and Video Game in the Works

The masked maniac of Crystal Lake is back — and this time, he’s coming for your screen and your console. New Friday the 13th Movie and Video Game in the Works. Horror fans, sharpen your machetes and clear your calendars, because a brand-new Friday the 13th movie and video game are officially on the way.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Robbie Barsamian of Horror Inc. dropped the bloody news that both a new Friday the 13th sequel film and a video game are currently in development. While Barsamian didn’t spill too many details — no title, no cast, no release dates, and no developer announcement yet — he made one thing crystal (lake) clear: Jason Voorhees is returning in a big way.

“I can tell you that a new sequel movie and new sequel game are at the top of our list. It’s where most of our energy’s going right now. And I can tell you finally we’re in a position to deliver on that,” Barsamian confirmed.

This announcement comes as the franchise claws its way out of years of legal limbo — the long-standing dispute between original Friday writer Victor Miller and director Sean S. Cunningham had kept Jason sheathed for far too long. But with those battles seemingly behind us, the franchise is ready to slash forward once again.

And if that wasn’t enough, fans are already buzzing about Crystal Lake, the upcoming Peacock series from Hannibal's Bryan Fuller, produced alongside Miller, Marc Toberoff, and Barsamian. Details about how the series will tie into the upcoming film and game are still unclear, but this layered return to Camp Blood is shaping up to be one of horror’s biggest franchise revivals in years.

Jason Voorhees has stalked teens through the woods, the city, and even outer space. He’s been reimagined, resurrected, and rebooted — but fans have never seen him quite like this. With the promise of a new movie, a new game, and a prestige series all brewing at once, the Friday the 13th legacy isn’t just alive — it’s stronger (and bloodier) than ever.

Stay tuned — because soon, you’ll be screaming again. #yourfavoritescarymovie
